Snowy Sunset Session | Branch + Twig Photography
This snowy sunset session gave us the chills because it is gorgeous! Grab a cup of hot cider, or a hotty tottie we aren't judging here, and check out what Jamie Carle of Branch + Twig Photography captured.
Here is what she had to say:
I met Lena on a Tuesday meeting with other vendors and photographers in our area. We chatted a little, and seemed to have a lot in common. I went home and my mind turned back to this cranberry crown I was making, and how I could incorporate it. Would anyone be willing to wear this during their photoshoot? Would I have to wait until my next styled wedding shoot to discover how it photographed?
We were snowed in, school districts closed, and blankets of snow covering the Portland area. I decided the logical way to use my little homemade crown and keep some control over the shoot was to put out a model call.
Unexpectedly, Renee (a hair and makeup artist) reached out and said she's open! Beauty school was closed due to weather and she'd love to put something together. I then got a message from Lena on my business Instagram. She wanted to be photographed and had the perfect cranberry dress! Yes! Renee's friend Randee also had interest. We decided to go for two different looks, finding an impressive background throughout all of this snow.
Randee's edgy look and sense of style in juxtaposition with Lena's sweet smile and soft demeanor seemed to mirror the fire and ice aesthetic that the brilliant sunset was putting off through the icy trees.
This snowy cranberry shoot was everything I truly wanted it to be and more!
