Gorgeous Smiles in the Woods | With Caroline Ellis
We love seeing you babes getting out and photographing each other. Embracing each others businesses, and really cheering each other on. Here is what Caroline had to say about this session:
Bailey is another fellow photographer in my community. She’s as BA as they come—fearless and full of adventure. I’m so grateful that she and I both share the same sentiment—that we want to have community with each other over competition. Having her in the same area as me drives me and challenges me as a photographer. Plus, she provides her own point of view and story angle to the market that is unlike any other. I loved getting to photograph her!
Bailey graduated from Appalachian State University and has successfully started her own photography business—and she’s only in her mid-twenties. She worked hard, and looked for every way to improve, learn, and succeed. Crazy awesome, right?!
One of the first things I wanted to be sure and document in her session was her smile—completely full, taking up her whole face—I love it! If you ever meet her in person, you can’t help but be affected by her deeply rooted joy and contentedness. Her spirit is gentle & kind, but don’t let that fool you. So often in our culture gentility and humility can be seen as something not to strive for or emulate, but I believe that Bailey’s very presence demands the opposite. She’s strong, fierce, and independent, yet kindness and gentleness are part of the very DNA of the threads of her personality. Her selflessness serves to convict me of my own selfishness, and I’m convinced that every creative needs a friend like her. She’s encouraging and authentic—not in the sappy-empty sort of complimenting kind of way, but real & genuine in her speech & actions.
I had so much fun photographing Bailey, of Bailey Batten Photography. She’s one of the good ones! I was not only honored to photograph her story, but I’m delighted to call her a friend.
