Urban Glam Senior Session | Katharine Hannah Photography
We just love seeing babes rockin' it and #feelingthemselves in their senior photos! Seniors who are embrace this early journey in their life, who are laughing and takin' it all in, that's perfection. That is exactly what Katharine Hannah captures here.
Here is what she had to say:
It's no secret that Chicago is kind of miserable in the winter, which can make it difficult to take the type of senior pictures that I specialize in and adore - natural light, beautiful floral backgrounds, and gorgeous locations with wind that catches my girls hair. Because Lara's shoot was planned for one of the coldest weeks in winter here, we had to get creative with locations and keep our options open. The beach was out of the question - the wind would have knocked the poor girl over and I would have lost her! - so Lara and I picked some gorgeous indoor spots that would still have a touch of nature and match her urban/girly style.
We started at Navy Pier, sitting between the plants, listening to music from a concert Lara had gone to the night before and was excited to tell me about, and laughing at the funny looks we got from families passing by our little party. From Navy Pier we moved onto the Chicago Cultural Center, with it's gorgeous stained glass ceilings, massive windows, and long trails of light that we followed around while the sun was setting. I had such a fun day with Lara, listening to her hilarious stories about New Years (too bad about your phone again!), learning about her dreams and goals, and her journey through high school because she is one of the busiest and most dedicated teens I've ever met. This sweet girl and I have so much in common that the hours we spent together only felt like 15 minutes and I hope to see her again soon. :)
Lara's photoshoot ended with us at Shake Shack where I had never been before because it's not very vegan friendly, but I have to admit, A+ fries at that place. :)
