Miller & Lopez Urban Engagement Session in Texas Small Town | Sarah Gillogly Studios
We love this urban engagement session with rich pops of colors and all the love. Here is what Sarah had to say about it :
"This Urban Engagement session is super special to me, because it’s for some of the most important people in my life. My sister Hannah & her Fiancé Jacob!! Eeeek!! She’s getting married you guys! Sometimes I can’t believe the little toddler with peach fuzz hair and smiling blue eyes, is now a grown woman who is engaged!
Our sister relationship is a special one, I have literally known her since the second she took breath and wailed that little newborn cry. Letting me be in the delivery room that day, was one of the greatest gifts my mother has given me. And honestly, it was hard to forget that day and not shed a few tears, as I photographed her & Jacob’s engagement session in Downtown Minneola. Or maybe even as I write this post… hold on; I have to grab some tissues….
Hannah & Jacob met just after she spent three weeks in Texas with us in 2015. I started noticing this super-cute guy in some of her Snapchat stories. Soon, he was in ALL of her Snapchat stories. Finally, as the protective older sister, I asked her ‘What gives? Who is this guy?’. She told me who he was and that she really liked him. I may or may not have totally giggled when she said that she “LIKED him, liked him”.
I knew Jacob was a good guy when I found out he was a ‘foodie’, even more than Dan and I. Jacob will eat all the weird stuff, like Alligator and octopus. Which perfectly balances out Hannah’s safe and sound dining tastes. Jacob still loses a few ‘sister points’ because he does NOT like coffee! Ha!
Jacob is an electrician in the HVAC controls industry, and Hannah works as a teller at a local bank in California. They both really enjoy the desert-riding scene, and frequently go to Ocotillo with their friends & family. They love going for little trips to try Yelp hotspots, and catching the Friday night bonfire in Corona.
They’re still trying to nail down details for their Wedding. Originally, they’d hoped to have a Fall wedding, but haven’t had luck in finding a venue that works for them. Hannah loves the rustic-style venues which there is no shortage of in Texas, but is hard to find in California. I am thankful we were able to capture rustic-style images around our lake before we drove Downtown for their urban engagement session.
I am so ready for some wedding shenanigans plus a new brother-in-law PLUS maybe a couple nieces & nephews to snuggle with in the future (wink wink!)"
