Sandra + Adrian's Wedding at the Ace Hotel (Love Equals More Love) | with Sarah Morrill

Happy Wednesday babes! We're fueling your week with an amazing and fun intimate wedding at the Ace Hotel. This has to be one of my personal faves, and we are LIVING for these details! Sarah Morrill does an amazing job storytelling this entire wedding, and her images make us feel part of the fun. You just have to see it.

OK I’m going to try not to cry all over my computer. I’ve been wanting to submit this wedding for a while, but it needed the right blog and I couldn’t envision Sandra + Adrian’s wedding being done justice on a conventional wedding blog. Sandra is my friend and massage therapist, we met in our little seaside city of Portland, Maine. When I go to see Sandra, she massages all the tension away and makes me feel ten years younger. We giggle and trade stories and life gossip. One day about a year ago, laying on the massage table, she told me that her fantastic partner Adrian proposed and they were planning a wedding.

When Adrian and Sandra met they were immediately attracted, “Who’s that good looking dude?” Sandra said. Over time they developed a deep love, traveled all over the country together, and made amazing friends from California to Maine. They had adventures, from working on a farm in California, to building a life in Maine. When they started planning how to get married, they knew they wanted a wedding that would include their beautiful community and family from far and wide, and a wedding that would be accessible to Sandra’s grandmother Pearl. It just happens that Pearl lives Palm Spring, CA, the old Hollywood vacation destination. They settled on The Ace Hotel and Swim Club for the wedding, with a rehearsal at Moorten’s Botanical Garden’s and a day after hike at Joshua tree, and thus the wedding weekend was titled “LOVE EQUALS MORE LOVE”

Piece by piece, everything came together with the help of friends and professionals. Stacey of Broadturn Farm in Maine helped design the day, and flew out to do luscious florals. Adrian (ever the snappy dresser) picked out a fantastic dark blue suit with his signature skinny tie, Sandra choose a golden velvet goddess dress that flowed around her in the most amazing way, crystals for her hair, and mineral makeup. Friends at Pickwick Independent Press helped the couple design and hand printed zines as a guide to the weekend festivities. Each guest choose a places a rose quartz around the couple for the ceremony, and everyone participated in a blessing. The couple had matching robes for getting ready, and Adrian brought along his film camera to snap some pictures throughout the weekend.

The setting was ridiculously gorgeous, from the desert, to the lush succulents, to the stark windmills and modern beauty of Ace Hotel + Sim Club. BUT... what really made this wedding magic was the people. Sandra and Adrian bring love like none other. They hold loving space for people and for eachother, and in turn their people loved them deeply and with force. They laughed, they danced like there was tomorrow, and they celebrated as humans truly should. I felt like the luckiest babe alive to be a part of this day and I want to share it with you

Sarah Morrill is a wedding and lifestyle photographer. Her work is as unique as the way she sees world. It's the quiet moments she captures, it's uncontrollable laughter, it's tears for no reason, it's the crash of a salty wave on dark black rocks and it's a scream of triumph into the empty woods. She travels far and wide, and chooses deeply beautiful people and places to photograph. She believes in doing things that really scare you, and holding on tight to the people you love, and loving as much as you can.
